Father’s Day is a celebration of the fathers in our lives. It is to recognize their hard work, dedication, and unconditional love. Fathers are the rocks of many families, providing strength and stability.

Unfortunately, for some children, they may find themselves growing up with an absentee father and the mother is playing a dual role. The role of a mother on Father’s Day and every day is to provide support, love and stability.

Every situation is unique. A family may celebrate Father’s Day by recognizing the mother’s efforts and sacrifices made, while others may still honor the role of the father. Some families may choose to do both. Some families may recognize another male role model that is a positive example and mentor outside of the family.

The importance of this day is to celebrate the role of the person that plays a dual role of providing support and discipline, while also being an advocate that listens and encourages.

Celebrate the person that sets positive examples for children and are present when they need guidance.
